Bonus Bet Value Calculator

Estimate how much cash value you could retain from a stake-not-returned (SNR) free bet you’ve already been issued, from the bonus amount, your back odds and any lay commission. Educational only — no offers shown.

Estimated retained value ≈ $37.50 — about 75.0% of the bonus, assuming you can lay at a matching price.

This is an estimate of the value you could retain from a free bet you have already been issued. The real figure depends on getting a matching lay price at the time, and higher back odds generally retain more of a stake-not-returned bonus. HaterPicks doesn’t offer or promote bonuses.

What is a bonus bet worth?

A stake-not-returned bonus bet pays only the profit, not the stake, so it’s never worth its full face value in cash. This tool estimates the retained value if you were to place the bonus bet and hedge it at a matching price. It exists to help you understand the math of a bonus you already hold — HaterPicks does not offer or advertise bonuses.

The formula

value ≈ Bn × (O − 1) ÷ O × (1 − c/100)
conversion % = value ÷ Bn × 100

where Bn = bonus amount, O = your odds in decimal form (1 + A ÷ 100 for plus odds A, 1 + 100 ÷ |A| for minus odds — the calculator converts for you), and c = lay commission percentage (0 if you’re not hedging on an exchange).

Worked example

A $50 SNR bonus bet placed at +300 (4.00 in decimal), with no lay commission, estimates to 50 × (3 ÷ 4) × 1 = $37.50 — a 75% conversion. The same bonus at +100 (2.00) would estimate to just 50 × (1 ÷ 2) = $25 (50%), which is why longer odds retain more of a stake-not-returned bonus.

When to use it

Use it to understand what a free bet you already hold is roughly worth in cash before deciding how to use it. Remember it’s an estimate — the real outcome depends on being able to lay the bet at a matching price when you act, and prices move. It is not betting advice.

FAQ

What is a stake-not-returned (SNR) bonus bet?

A stake-not-returned bonus bet pays only the winnings, not the stake itself. If you place a $50 SNR bonus bet at +300 and it wins, you receive the $150 profit — the $50 “stake” is not returned. That’s why a bonus bet is worth less than its face value in cash.

How do you estimate the value of a bonus bet?

A common honest model estimates retained value as Bonus × (O − 1) ÷ O, where O is the price in decimal form (+300 is 4.00), optionally reduced by any lay commission: value ≈ Bn × (O − 1)/O × (1 − c/100). Dividing by the bonus amount gives the conversion percentage. It assumes you can hedge the bet at a matching price.

Why do longer odds convert a bonus bet better?

Because the stake isn’t returned, the (O − 1)/O factor grows toward 1 as the odds lengthen. On a heavy favorite you keep a small fraction of the face value; at plus odds you keep more — which is why bonus-bet conversion strategies typically use longer odds.

Is this a guaranteed figure?

No. It’s an estimate that depends on getting a matching hedge price at the moment you place it, which is not always available. HaterPicks is a research and analytics product — it does not offer, advertise or promote bonuses, and this is not betting advice.
